Just another cheap dash cam from China that does not work.

I’ve had this camera for over 5 months and so far it has failed to record 85% of what it should have been recording.

Some of the recordings that it was able to record are cut short, error messages are displayed and dates are all over the board.

Menu is confusing and hard to maneuver around. I REALLY, REALLY feel that I threw my money down the drain when I purchased this and at $55 that is a lot of money to just blow off. I wish they stop making electronics in China because all you get is junk that is bad out of the box!

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:07 Mins

4 days it stopped recording correctly, I went from HD video in the 3 minute loops I have it set to, to completely jumbled garbage that only records in 10-45 second clips, I have tried 2 different 32gb memory cards (Samsung and a SanDisk ultra), resetting the unit and several different resolution settings and still the same, I even tried it on battery power and it still only records 10-45 second clips of digitalized, freeze frame, incoherent, garbage. As you can see in the video it records about 10 seconds and then completely freezes for a few seconds before starting the next 10 second video, in the 1 minute 7 second video I uploaded, it recorded 6 videos totaling 46 seconds, if you look at the time in the top right corner you will see it freeze then the screen goes black when it “resets”. *update* after using two high grade 32gb cards with the same freezing corrupted videos, 1 a Samsung and the other a SanDisk ultra, both class 10, I decided to try a cheap generic 16gb card I picked up at my local MicroCenter. After a full week of use the videos are still recording at 3 minute loops with no issues. The manufacturer claims this camera can support a 32gb card, that is a lie.

    For a budget/starter cam, it’s okay.
Pros: It’s small, so it doesn’t take up that much space on your windshield. The suction cup mount holds well, and it’s easy to take the camera off of the mount. The power cord is plenty long.
Cons: The image quality is not that great. I wasn’t expecting IMAX or anything, for the price, but there are times when the footage is really blurry, even at noon on a crystal clear day. It’s not that spiffy at night, either.
Also, it hates the heat. I normally put my electronics either in my purse or in my car’s glovebox/center console, since I live in Texas, but one day I forgot and left the camera out. It wasn’t in direct sunlight, but it refused to turn on for about an hour or so. I’ve had no issues with it since then. I had problems with blurry images even before that brain fart.
Overall, I would recommend it if you need a dash cam and don’t want to wait for a better, more expensive model. I just ordered a Falcon Zero F170, so if the Securityman Mini did anything, it was impress upon me the need for a dash cam.
